Underwater Recess

This content little jellyfish came about in response to the Draw This! monthly prompt series from SCBWI. The prompt, “hoops,” initially left me uninspired, but then the idea of portraying a hula-hooping animal—the less likely, the better—got stuck in my brain.

Collage, watercolor, colored pencil, and digital media

The background is torn tissue on cardboard, the jellyfish is watercolor and colored pencil, and the hula hoop and a few other details were rendered digitally.
