White Oak

This linoleum relief print was my submission to the 2024 Emerald Print Exchange. The image was inspired by the view of the sunset through an old oak tree near my home. I created the image as a 2-step reduction, first the white of the moon against a “rainbow roll” of the gradated sunset, then the detail of the tree in silhouette. But in hindsight I should have printed it using two separate blocks! The final print is an edition of 12.
