This trial proof, consisting of nine individual, approximately 2 x 2″ plates, was created as a series of experiments on small copper scraps. They began as photograms I created in the photogravure workshop I attended at PNCA, and then continued to evolve as I used them as a test bed for other techniques I learned at Portland Community College, such as soft ground and spit bite. The piece was awarded a Best in Show ribbon for printmaking in the 2020 student art show, which I admittedly felt a little silly claiming at the ripe old age of 44, but hey, you gotta get your 15 minutes where you can, I suppose!
