This ongoing series explores the various names assigned to each full moon cycle by cultures around the world. Eventually I’m hoping to have a full year’s worth. Each image was created using assorted “kitchen table” intaglio techniques—namely Tetrapak and shellac plates, some with hand-colored watercolor.

February: Snow Moon (Midwestern native tribes including the Naudowessie)
May: Hare Moon (Old English)
July: Salmon Moon (some Northwestern native tribes, including the Tlingit and Wishram)
