fireweed

I am absolutely thrilled to share that one of this edition of six prints is now a part of the collection at the Maryhill Museum in Goldendale, Washington! The news was just the icing on the cake of an all-around amazing experience participating in the Naturally Northwest exhibit, a collaboration between 26 printmakers and 26 poets from Oregon. Each printmaker created a photopolymer print inspired by a poem centered around natural themes. I was fortunate enough to be paired up with poet Eleanor Berry to illustrate her poem Fireweed.

Photopolymer print with watercolor. 10 x 8″.

My print consisted of two photopolymer plates, one featuring a photo that my husband took while hiking through an area of Oregon forest that was recovering from a wildfire, and one of a drawing I drew of a fireweed. I then hand-colored the fireweed with watercolor to complete this edition of six.
